Activity #1

Ahlcon Commerce Society is an initiative by bright minds who desire to come together and assist the facilitation of economic awareness and financial literacy in students. An activity was conducted to teach children of class 10th about the intricate details of a cheque. The highly motivated team conducted this in a very interactive and excellent way.

A cheque is a vital instrument used to transfer funds and children were taught about filling it. Information was given to them about cheque no, IFSC code and writing the amount in both figures and words. They were also provided with the knowledge with types of cheque including crossed, uncrossed, order, post-dated and bearer cheques. Dummy cheques were provided to each student, who then filled the cheque to great satisfaction. Questions and queries that were posed by the young learners were answered dutifully by their mentors.

Our efforts were duly acknowledged by our teachers and fellow children. They complimented the society for its vision and hard work.  Such initiatives always motivate the students to explore their latent abilities and learn more about the society they live in.

Student Motivation

Students and young children appear to be propelled by curiosity, driven by an intense need to explore, interact with, and make sense of their environment. Working in a team help them to plough their creative abilities and to work hard in the direction of their goals. A similar initiative was taken by the students of Ahlcon International School, for their initiative of School Enterprise Club. The responsibilities delegated to the team members were thoroughly enjoyed by them. Speaking of what motivated them to work tirelessly for the project, many replied with positive answers about collaboration and capacity building.

Bhavya Aggarwal, a student contributor who supplied us with products was ecstatic and expressed her satisfaction about the results of her efforts. “It helped me pursue my latent abilities and gave me the confidence to explore my talents in such a right way.” Riya Anand, the Head of Marketing echoes how this initiative helped her inculcate qualities of a true leader within her. “A leader doesn’t only make a way for herself, she makes it for others too. While taking the reins of marketing and production, I successfully guided people to give their best, and managed to learn a lot myself too.”, she said.

As young business students, the students got an excellent opportunity to have a hands-on-experience with handling business ventures and how to cultivate success in the form of valuable feedback and responsibilities. They were also motivated to contribute socially by this cause. As all our sales revenue was donated to our partner NGO. Such expression of creativity and moral values is a unique one, and should continue to be supported by all the stakeholders of society.
